STAY SAFE, CLEAN AND ECO-FRIENDLY

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE (SOP) PROTOCOL

Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) from 10 June - 31 Aug 2020

Notification:
(These SOPs are for Terengganu only and will improve over time, however SOPs from other Ministries, Departments and Agencies still need to be complied with and need to be compliant with the SOPs issued)

As of June 10, 2020, the State of Terengganu has registered 111 cases with 1 death and has been declared as the COVID-19 green zone on May 28, 2020, indicating that Terengganu is among the safest states for domestic travelers, online hotel bookings have also received a strong response. promotes after YAB PM announces insterstate travel allowed and allows domestic tourism to operate.

Reception/ Front-Desk/ Reservation

  • Cashless payments. Use online payment, credit card or debit card (paywave) for the purpose of lessening the touch.

Lobby

  • Avoid groups of more than 20 people at a time in the lobby.

Hotel Room

  • The capacity of each hotel room is based on the number of beds provided in the room only.

  • Covered barrels that meet the specifications according to MoH regulations should be provided outside the guest room.

  • The sheets and towels provided must be washed according to the SOP cleaning procedures of the MoH.​

    • Methods for Cleaning:
      i. Contaminated Linen -> Soak 0.5% sodium hypochloride solution for 30 minutes. Wash with detergent, rinse and soak in the sun for drying.
      ii. Used but not contaminated linens -> Wash with detergent, rinse with tap water and soak in the sun. The use of heavy duty washing machine dryers is recommended.​

F&B

  • The restaurant / cafe in the hotel / chalet is allowed to operate for dine in ala carte services only for hotel guests / customers; and buffet meals are not allowed.

  • Breakfast buffet is replaced with grab and go.

  • The cafeteria / cafeteria in the hotel / chalet where provided for employees is only allowed to operate for the purpose of providing packaged food by food handlers with nose and mouth covering and social incarceration. Lunch time should be taken in stages.

Housekeeping

  • Workers in the 'housekeeping' section have to wear face masks, plastic apron and gloves.

  • Need to wear new gloves for cleaning in each room.

  • Follow the 1 meter cleaning and social regulation procedures during the cleaning process.

  • Obtain complete training and briefings by MOH.

Swimming Pool/Spa/Gym

a. Spa

  • Workers need to wear a uniform that is compatible with a face mask.

  • Each uniform should be changed for each customer.

  • Spa workers should be given 30 minutes to receive their next customer, to clean and wear new uniforms.

b. Swimming pool

  • Ensure a distance of 1 meter per seat provided by the pool.

  • Limit the number of visitors to the pool.

  • Regular testing of microbiological quality should be taken into account and in accordance with government regulations.

  • The level of chlorine in the pool should be between 1-3mg / l and pH between 6.8 - 7.4 (MOH).

  • Dedication should be done daily.
     

Maintenance Services

  • Make sure that the parts that are constantly touched by guests such as elevators, button lifts, door handles, chairs and desks should always be lit at least 4 times a day.

  • Keep good ventilation in every part of the hotel and water it at least 4 times a day.

  • Make sure hand sanitizer / disinfect gel dispensers are provided in the corridor as well as inside the toilet.

Beaches, Hotels, Resorts and Islands

  • Only two people are allowed to share an umbrella. The exception is families with small children.

  • The distance between the chairs must be at least 2 meters with the umbrella adjacent. The distance between the umbrellas must be 4 meters.

  • Team sports that involve physical contact are not allowed.

  • The rules for social hygiene and hygiene should be enforced.

  • Music is not playable and parties or events are not allowed.

  • The capacity of the beach is 40 people per 1,000M.

Boat / Ferry Operator
a. Tourist boat operators

  • Provides a record of daily duty workers (ticket sales / boat drivers etc.).

  • The workers on duty are required to comply with the SOP outlined by the MOH (Temperature records, using hand sanitizer, wearing face mask).

  • Boat ticket sales are only available over the counter / via pre-order to reduce the risk of being sold via “ticket wagons” in the jetty area.

  • If travelers come in groups, only representatives will need to go to the counter for boat hire.

  • Only assigned personnel can lift and arrange passenger bags to prevent the passengers from being crowded in the parking lot.

  • Boat passengers must be limited to 50% of original capacity.

  • Social spacing for boat passengers should be adhered to by providing specific markers for usable seats and seats that need to be emptied.

b. Sports activities on the island

  • Diving / Snorkeling / Kayak packages are only available for visitors who have pre-booked with the agency / dive operator.

  • The record of the visitor making the reservation must be provided in full.

  • Use the MySejahtera / We Take Care of Us application or the authority provided by the authority before initiating water sports activities for visitors' health records.

  • Boat passengers and divers must be limited to 50% of original capacity.

  • The ratio of dive instructors and divers at lower scales is encouraged. (Ex: 1 dive instructor: 2 divers)

  • Visitors are only allowed to use personal snorkeling equipment for snorkelling, diving and scuba diving activities.

  • Safety jackets (as suggested in SOP passenger boats, should be used in the same jacket when passengers board the boat at the time of arrival.

  • No walk-in visitors are allowed for snorkeling activities.

  • Require insurance for snorkelling / diving.

OPERATIONS / SOP GUIDELINES FOR SNORKELLERS IN THE SNORKELING CENTER

  1. Recruitment of each snorkeler's body temperature during registration, Only snorkers not exceeding 37c are allowed to continue their activity.

  2. Data retrieval such as name, phone number and body temperature records as well as the entry and exit dates of each sniper must be recorded and stored. The use of the MySejahtera app is strongly encouraged.

  3. Practice minimum 1mtr social distancing while at snorkelling shops and in boats.

  4. Practice minimum 2mtr social distancing while snorkelling on the surface

  5. Practice wearing mask at all times in snorkeling and boating stores.

  6. Practice hand-sanitizer regularly during snorkeling and boating.

  7. Practice proper and safe etiquette during coughing or sneezing during snorkeling and in boats as well as during snorkel in open water.

  8. Do not direct the snorkel valve to others nearby while using it.

  9. Practice cleanliness of snorkeling equipment at all times. Control your equipment yourself and do not touch equipment that you do not own.

  10. Your personal snorkelling equipment including a safety jacket should always be disinfected after being used before it can be safely stored.

 

DIVING & SNORKELING EQUIPMENT IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR RENTAL SHARING. IF RENTED, DIVING EQUIPMENT AND CLOTHING SHOULD BE CLEANED AFTER EACH USE. THE USE OF SOAP IS SUFFICIENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF CLEANING RELATED EQUIPMENT.

 

OPERATIONS / SOP GUIDELINES FOR DIVERS AT THE SCUBA DIVING CENTER (DIVE CENTER)

1. Recruitment of each diver's body temperature during registration, Only diver not exceeding 37c is allowed to continue activity.

2. Data retrieval such as name, phone number and body temperature records as well as the entry and exit dates of each diver should be recorded and stored. The use of the MySejahtera app is strongly encouraged.

3. The diver must fill out the `DAN Health Declaration Form COVID-19‟

4. Practice minimum 1mtr social distancing throughout the dive center and in the boat as well as during open water before and after diving.

5. Practice wearing mask at all times in dive centers and in boats.

6. Practice hand-sanitizer regularly during dive center and boat

7. Practice proper and safe etiquette during coughing or sneezing while in dive center and in boat and during open water before and after diving.

8. Keep your diving equipment clean at all times. Control your diving equipment yourself and do not touch equipment you do not own.

9. `Buddy Check‟ will be done on your own by being monitored by a diving partner from a safe distance without any contact with a fellow diver.

10. All safety procedures to prevent Covid-19 infection during scuba course learning should refer to scuba instructors.
